#12, plus some other stuff

Meet Bathroom Kitty. I picked her up Saturday night. We were at a friends house, and of course got into a conversation about speutering. Their inside/outside cats are intact. He teases me about making $4/kitten (but was kidding). I go into the whole spiel about animals in shelters dying because of that flippant, selfish attitude. I cried. I rarely cry (though I've got about 3 million other things on my plate right now, some of which aren't good, so I think this just pushed me over the edge).

The guy then tells me he meant to get his cats fixed, but one got pregnant before he had the chance. I offer to speuter mom and all babies once they're born and before they go to their new homes. He thinks it's strange, but agreed. And then jokingly said I could take the cat above, because she was just a stray he's been feeding. Little did he know I would actually take her. And so, now we have Bathroom Kitty. She's going to the vet tonight to get tested for kitty diseases, and hopefully I'll have a name for her soon!

I did call and apologize to the guy on Monday for completely losing it, but he actually thought my passion was cool. Hopefully I changed his perspective on things a little bit...

In other foster news, we have Hot Wings back. His eye was all nasty and infected, so they wanted him to go back into foster care. We've got to put goop in his eyes 2-3 times a day, but he really cooperates so well, even though I know he hates it.

Angelo is still a little sneezy - the other day he sneezed so hard he made his nose bleed, but he's improving. I don't know when either of them will be able to go back to the shelter - they are SO beyond full right now, that even healthy cats are having to be put into the holding area because there just isn't enough room in the cat room. By the time they would make it into the cat room, I'm sure they would both be sick again.

So, we've got a total of 3 foster cats, 1 foster dog, 2 resident cats, 2 resident dogs in a 1600 sq. ft. house. Kyle is about the most wonderful person in the world to put up with all of this. I'm a lucky, lucky girl (and he's a patient, patient boy).

Yeah, that guy didn't realize he was messing with the wrong person! I am so proud of you for what you're doing. If more people where like you the world would be a much better place.
