
Last weekend Kyle and I transported the above 5 dogs across the state. All were going from high kill shelters in Kansas and Missouri (where they likely would have been euthanized) to no-kill rescues in the Northeast part of the country.
For those that don't know how a transport works, it's just like a little relay of volunteers. Person A drives them for an hour or so, then hands them off to Person B who drives them another hour or so, then to Person C, and Person D and so on, until they get to their final destination. I get transports emailed to me through the Truck-N-Paws Yahoo group, but I know there are a ton of other ones out there. When there is one coming through our area, and we've got a couple of free hours on a Saturday, we sign up to help get these pups to a safe place where they won't be euthanized and will get the opportunity to find a wonderful family, no matter how long it takes.
