Colby!

This is Colby, a 5-year-old Chihuahua mix.

The thing is, Fritz was supposed to be our last foster for CMHS. Those who know me well know that I have control issues, and the fact that I don't have a ton of say in where my fosters are placed really irks me. I'm not comfortable with them going to just an adequate home. I want them to go to the best home, and I'll keep them as long as it takes to find that home. That's not really how it works with CMHS, so I was looking at other options.

Anyway, a month ago I went into the shelter to collect signatures for the puppymill store boycott, and was (jokingly?) asked if I wanted to foster a chi. Colby had bitten someone in the shelter out of fear, and so his options were either find a foster home or be euthanized. He was such a needy attention whore, and I can't really say no when I feel that I'm literally their last hope, so I agreed to foster him.

Colby had a bad, bad teeth issue when we first got him. His breath was awful. Absolutely horrid. Like, gag-inducing horrid. He had a ton of plaque, and his teeth were basically like, fused together with plaque. He lost 7 teeth over the course of a week. After 3 weeks, we finally got him into the shelter vet to get his teeth cleaned, where he had 3 more teeth pulled, including an abscessed tooth which was causing him to squint his eye on the time.

So now Colby is all fixed up and ready to go to his forever home. He's so very snuggly - he sleeps under the covers every night. Such a love bug. So someone adopt him, okay?
