A plea for help!

The Central Missouri Humane Society (where most of our super fabulous fosters were from) is experiencing some pretty serious financial trouble. They take in over 9,000 dogs a year, and in 2008 that was from 50+ counties throughout the state. They are the only open door shelter (they'll take any animal, no matter how many, no questions asked) between St. Louis and Kansas City, and down to Springfield. The shelter is dirty, outdated, and practically falling apart. The cat room is just embarrassing - my walk in closet is bigger than it is, and it doesn't house 30-40+ cats at a time. So basically, the whole place is just a mess.

So there is this website - zootoo.com that is doing a $1 million shelter makeover. Two local 13-year-old girls launched the campaign to get CMHS into the top 20 - where they have to be in order to advance to the next round. They went from 839th a month ago all the way up 34th today. HUGE jump! We really need to push to get them into the top 20, and I would greatly appreciate your help getting us there (the animals would be more appreciative than I).

To advance in the rankings, individuals have to earn points for their shelter of choice. Here is how you earn points:

• Refer a friend - 50 points each
• Upload up to 5 pictures a day - 15 points each, 75 point daily max
• Upload up to 3 videos a day - 25 points each, 75 point daily max
• Upload a profile picture - 50 points, one time thing
• Write reviews of your favorite pet products, services, etc. - 20 points each, 60 point daily max
• Create a journal entry - 20 points each, 40 points daily max - these can be short!
• Comment on news articles - 5 points each, 25 points daily max
• Play Pet Wars (select the 'cuter' pet out of two) - 1 point each, 5 points daily max
• Answer a question posted - 4 points, 4 points daily max
  

So yeah, there are a lot of really easy, mindless things you can do to help win my shelter a makeover, which would be super awesome. You can be crazy like me and do all of those daily, or you can just simply sign up to get the initial 50 points. And maybe upload a picture or two. :)
